On July 20th I will be teaching a workshop called Finding Your Voice.
It will consist of kundalini yoga sets and meditations for opening
and expanding the throat chakra. We will also chant together to live
musical accompaniment.

Through my experience of doing these yoga sets and meditations, I have
grown in awareness and effectiveness in communicaiton as well as
singing ability. You don't have to be a musician or even sing in key
to benefit from learning to use the sound current to heal and draw
love and prosperity into your life.

I am very blessed to have come in contact with these teachings and am
honored to share them with you!

The workshop will be held at 6 Export Dr., Sterling VA. We will start
at 3pm and go until 6pm.
Please feel free to call me with any questions you have:

The Teacup

There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups.

One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said 'May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful.' As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke.

'You don't understand,' it said. 'I haven't always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, let me alone,' but he only smiled and said, 'Not yet.'

'Then I was placed on a spinning wheel,' the teacup said, 'and suddenly I was spun around and around and around.'

'Stop it! I'm getting dizzy!' I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, 'Not yet.'

'Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled, and I knocked at the door.'

'I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head and said, 'Not yet.'

'Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool.'

'There, that's better,' I said. 'And he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag.' 'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded and said, 'Not yet.'

'Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. All the time I could see him through the opening nodding his head, saying, 'Not yet.'

'Then I knew there wasn't any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and said, 'Look at yourself and I did.'

'That's not me; that couldn't be me. It's beautiful and I'm beautiful,' I said.

'I want you to remember, then,' came his reply, 'I know it hurt to be rolled and patted, but if I just left you, you'd have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened.'

'You would not have had any colour in your life, and if I hadn't put you back in that second oven, you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are now what I had in mind when I first began with you.'

I have a faery by my side
Which says I cannot sleep,
When once in pain I loudly cried
It said, "You must not weep."

If, full of mirth, I smile and grin,
It says, "You must not laugh;",
When once I wished to drink some gin
It said "You must not quaff."

When once a meal I tried to taste
It said "You must not bite;"
When to the wars I went in haste
It said, "You must not fight."

"What may I do?" at length I cried,
Tired of the painful task.
The faery quietly replied,
And said, "You must not ask."

Moral: "You mustn't"

It's been a few days since White Tantric and I've decided to eat a cleansing diet accompanied by a meditation for 40 days to keep this wonderful clarity with me as long as possible and also to keep opening and growing.

Last year I decided to try and attend one White Tantric Yoga for each season. Of course there is Summer and Winter Solstice, and we host one here in the fall, so for the spring I was thinking of going to New York. It should be great. To find out more about it and see if there are any in your area: www.whitetantricyoga.com.

It seems that I am not the only one who is benefiting from this shift in consciousness. Everyone around me seems more friendly and happy. Maybe it's just all the junk I let go of, but I am very much enjoying the change.

I'm making a recipe from the Golden Temple Cook Book right now, it smells so yummy! Mung beans and mustard greens....yum. Oh yes, and more yogi tea. :)

The pictures are being developed and should be ready by Friday, I'm as anxious as you are to see what turns out..!

Love,

Devinder Kaur

Chanting this Saturday

Posted on 2007.04.19 at 11:51
Sat Nam All,

In light of the tragedy at Virginia Tech this past Monday, I would like to offer a space where people can gather for healing.  This Saturday, April 21st, please join me at the Raj Khalsa Gudwara, 6 Export Dr. Sterling, VA 20165, from 6 – 7:30pm.  We will begin with a 31 minute meditation to send healing energies to the surviving victims, families and friends who have lost their loved ones, and all who have been negatively affected by this tragedy.  Next we will chant Guru Ram Das for 31 minutes, and then end by chanting Akal for those who lost their lives.  Your participation and support are greatly appreciated.    If anyone would like to help with planning, please contact me at 703-309-9018.  You are most welcome to help with music, making yogi tea, or anything else that you may think of.

If you cannot be there in person, but would still like to participate, here is a link to the meditation: http://www.yoga.net.au/healing_meditation

The Guru Ram Das Chant can be found on line at www.spiritvoyage.com there are various artists renditions available (including one of mine).

Akal chanting is done by simply chanting the word three times.  It is a sikh custom to honor the dead.  Akal means undead or deathless.

Blessings,

Devinder Kaur

You scored as Mother Teresa. Well, unless you turn lesbian, you should be fine in your dedication to God and chastity. While some may question your philanthropic actions as being founded in religious indoctrination rather than honest generosity, they have no appreciation for the most popular religion in the history of mankind.

You will never get laid which is supposedly a choice for you, but when you're that fucking ugly, it's questionable.

Secretly, you find miters to be very arousing.
